Imagine if a familiar tune, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, might have been performed by various popular vocal groups of the last hundred years. This workshop is a journey through history, but also a bit of an arranging, harmony and theory lesson all in one. Its simple melody has been arranged to bear uncanny resemblance to groups such as Pentatonix, Queen, Take 6, The Mills Brothers, The Hi-Lo’s, Mozart and beyond. This, in turn, reveals approaches to harmony, arranging devices, vocal technique, performance characteristics and production conventions in many contrasting styles. The content of this particular workshop was curated by members of Accent, acclaimed internet sensation jazz a cappella group.
