Katie Thomas conducts professional choirs and non-professional choruses throughout Europe. A graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, she is noted as a leading choral music specialist in the UK.
Recent engagements include Guest Conductor BBC Singers and Guest Chorus Master MDR Radio Choir (Leipzig), with a forthcoming collaboration planned for Vocal Consort Berlin. She is Founder and Artistic Director of The Constellation Club Orchestra and Chamber Choir.
Katie conducts the prestigious Sherborne Summer School of Music Symphony Chorus and Orchestra, is Associate Conductor of the 250-voice Barts Choir of London and is vocal coach and Assistant Chorus Master of the BBC Symphony Chorus.
Katie is a visiting conductor to the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain and the choirs of the Royal College of Music. She is a lead tutor in choral conducting technique for the Association of British Choral Directors and adjudicates at choral festivals worldwide for INTERKULTUR. In demand as a workshop leader, Katie is an Associate of the Come and Sing Company, and presenter for the UK Choir Festival.
As a professional soprano, Katie performed with ensembles including The Monteverdi Choir (also acting as rehearsal assistant to Sir John Eliot Gardiner), Polyphony, the Academy of Ancient Music, Tenebrae and London Voices, touring international concert venues, recording for CDs, film and video-game sessions, as well as broadcasting on TV and national radio.
