Joanna Tomlinson

Joanna Tomlinson is a conductor, singer and vocal trainer who trained at the Royal College of Music.

Joanna is Music Director of London-based Constanza Chorus and of the internationally award-winning Farnham Youth Choirs. She is Choral Director at Reading University and Associate Music Director of East London Chorus.  She is also on the panel of tutors for the Association of British Choral Directors.

With Constanza Chorus she has recently conducted Brahms’ Requiem with the London Mozart Players and Mendelssohn’s Elijah at the Cadogan Hall and mass at St Peter’s Basilica in Rome.  She also directs the Constanza Chamber Choir.  Farnham Youth Choir are two-time winners of the Choir of the Year competition as well as winning gold medals at the European and Word Choir Games.

She has worked with Manchester Chamber Choir, London Symphony Chorus, Joyful Company of Singers, Royal College of Music Chorus, Excelsis Chamber Choir, The Whitehall Choir, Trinity Laban Junior College Choirs, and Wimbledon Choral Society.

As a singer she works with professional choirs including BBC Singers, Gabrieli Consort, Sonoro and Britten Sinfonia Voices, and performs as an oratorio and recital soloist.  She teaches singing and conducting and has worked as a vocal coach.  Increasingly in demand as a workshop leader, she was recently a presenter at the ABCD convention 2016.

She enjoys yoga and fine wine, but not usually at the same time.
