Stuart Overington

A choral director and vocal leader, Stuart Overington is known for his energetic and engaging approach to training voices. He studied at the Royal Northern College of Music as both a singer and conductor and has become established as a versatile choral director working with everything from chamber choirs to large community choirs. He is currently director of choirs at the RNCM, the Halle youth choir and Halle Ancoats community choir as well as working for the National Children’s Choir of Great Britain.

Through this work he has worked on a wide range of projects including concerts for the Proms, album recordings with artists such Elbow, C Duncan and slow show and choir festivals across Europe. As an experienced teacher and trainer, Stuart works across the country training both teachers and conductors for organisations such as Voices Foundation, Sing for Pleasure and the Royal Opera House.

He has also written two books for Sing for Pleasure of music for community choirs and number of songs for children published in the Boosey & Hawkes bestselling series Singing Sherlock.
